2022 - Presbytery Year of Evangelism
What Is Evangelism?
Evangelism is the proclamation and manifestation of good news. The following passage from the prophet Isaiah illuminates the expansive, wondrous nature of God’s good news:
“How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who announces peace,
who brings good news,
who announces salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” (Isaiah 52:7)

Matthew 25 - Films That Matter
Beginning Thurs., Jan. 20
Woodlawn Chapel Presbyterian will be sponsoring an Epiphany learning & fellowship event via Zoom using Matthew 25 curriculum on engaging racism through film. We are excited to offer this to the community and presbytery! We will begin on Thursday, January 20 from 7-8:30 p.m. and continue on consecutive Thursday evenings through February 17. It's not necessary to attend all the events, but we're asking for persons to preregister with us by sending an email to [email protected] or to me at [email protected] so they can receive the link.  Flyer with details found here

Tips for Caring for God's Unbelievable Creation: Mulch your holiday greens
Find a way to chip, shred, and mulch Christmas Trees and other holiday greens these days after the holidays. Many communities have places for this or if not, you can do it yourself. Use the resulting product as mulch instead of throwing it in a landfill.
Provided by the Earth Care Team of Presbytery. Contact Carleton Stock by email at [email protected] or call 314-941-9378.

Changes in a federal student loan forgiveness program to
have a positive impact on ministers and church leaders
The Presbyterian Mission Agency is offering two webinars in January for all PC(USA) leaders. These webinars will be a launching point for a year-long push to make sure every PC(USA) leader with student loan debt has the information they need to take advantage of a limited waiver from the Department of Education. Many who may not have qualified for Public Service Loan Forgiveness previously, could have their loans forgiven much sooner than expected. Any PC(USA) leader is welcome to join either meeting. Student Loan experts from PeopleJoy will present the material and be available to answer general questions. Live simultaneous interpretation will be provided in Spanish and Korean. Visit pcusa.org/loanassist for more information.
