About the Foundation's Story
I was walking down the paper aisle at a local super market. While making my way down the aisle, I noticed a woman gazing at the toilet paper - tears streamed down the woman's face. The woman had a half gallon of milk tucked in one arm.
Witnessing the woman's anguish, I carefully approached asking, "Are you all right? Is there anything I can do to help?" The woman replied, "I am a teacher and I can't even provide for my daughter! I am standing here trying to decide if I should buy toilet paper or milk. How can I tell my child that she can't have milk? How do I explain that to my innocent little child?"
The woman shoved the milk into my hand and rushed out of the store. There I was, standing in the aisle holding the half gallon of milk, gazing at the toilet paper, choking back tears. I realized the woman had answered my question; "Is there anything I can do to help you?" In that moment, I knew our foundation would provide grocery gift cards for teachers. - Gretchen Vorbeck

YRMC Offers Free Health Insurance Enrollment Events

Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) is sponsoring a series of free Health Insurance Marketplace Enrollment Events during open enrollment, which takes place November 1-December 15, 2019.
“The people of our community are very family focused,” said Robbie Nicol, Executive Director, YRMC Community Outreach and Philanthropy. “This dedication to family inspired YRMC to offer these enrollment events. We’re very pleased to provide no-cost, expert assistance to individuals and families who want health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. Our team can also help people applying for AHCCCS, Arizona’s Medicaid.”
YRMC Certified Application Counselors (CACs) will offer assistance during the following Health Insurance Marketplace enrollment events:

Pet of the Week
"Kazak"
Kazak is an American Bulldog with a lot of personality! He has been at YHS for awhile now and although he is doing good here, he would greatly benefit from being in a huge yard running around and exploring. Kazak is housetrained and knows how to sit and shake. He needs a confident owner to show him the ropes and work with him on his leash walking skills. Kazak is a good boy waiting patiently to go to his forever home.
A note from Kazak: “Hi! Im Kazak and I can’t wait to shine in the eyes of my forever family! I’m a good boy and I just want to be loved. I know a lot of cool tricks and am eager to learn more. I hope I get adopted soon so I can spend as much time with my forever family as possible!”
