PRESIDENT'S CORNER...

August is almost upon us and I can honestly say I'm already looking forward to September! Summer is my least favorite season but we had a great July meeting with our YAVGOP County Chair Lois Fruhwirth and our keynote speaker Sheriff David Rhodes. Thanks to your generosity we raised $500 for the YCSO Employee Fund which helps YCSO families in times of crisis or other needs as our Caring for America July project. So proud of our group!

The AzFRW Summer State Meeting in Prescott set records for attendance and overall membership. AzFRW is now at 2679 members statewide making us the 3rd largest Federation in the nation behind TX and CA! If any ACTIVE PVRW member wants to attend the NFRW Convention in Orlando in Sept, please contact me. I cannot attend and will help credential you as a voting Delegate to represent our club. If you have never been, NFRW Conventions are fun, exciting and usually have great speakers!

AzFRW will host their own State Convention from October 21-23 at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. We circulated a clipboard for interested names and as we had more than 5 sign up we will hold an election in August to determine who will be our Delegates and who will be our Alternates. You may still submit your name at the August meeting. Based on our club membership, we are entitled to 5 voting Delegates and an equal number of Alternates.

Our August Program should be very interesting, invite a friend or neighbor! We will welcome Cutter Cunningham, our Town's new Economic Development Director as well as the PV Chamber of Commerce CEO Marnie Uhl. Together they will give us the inside scoop of what's coming up for our Town!

See you on August 3rd,

President Mary

DID YOU KNOW?

santa-maria-600.jpg

Our Aug 3rd Meeting date in history...in 1492 Christopher Columbus sets sail on his first voyage from Palos de la Frontera, Spain to the "Indies" with three ships, Santa María, Pinta and Niña.  The Santa Maria was the largest of the three and his flagship. Unfortunately, the Santa Maria actually ran aground and sank off the island of Hispaniola (Haiti). The Santa Maria was rediscovered in 2014.

Prescott Valley

Economic Development

Coordinator

Cutter Chamberlain

Cutter originally grew up in Yuma until 1995 when his family moved to the Chino Valley area. He landed in Prescott Valley in 2003 but in 2006 moved back to Yuma to be closer to family and where he attended Arizona Western College earning his Associate’s Degree in Political Science. Since then he has earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Grand Canyon University and is half way to his Masters in Public Administration. For the last 6 years he has worked in the field of Marketing & Development for the City of Yuma where his focus was on bringing more tourism to the town and collaborating with local businesses to provide events and other activities for the public to enjoy.

Cutter has always loved this area and was happy to get back up north. His vision for Prescott Valley is to see the Town continue to grow and expand like it has been doing. He plans to connect with the already established businesses in Town and to encourage outside interests to bring more businesses here.

Cutter is happily married to his wife Taylor and they have three sons, Brody, Cole and Weston. He looks forward to serving the Town of Prescott Valley and this wonderful community.
