PRESIDENT'S CORNER...

Our August meeting was most interesting with Cutter Chamberlain, our Town's new Economic Development Coordinator and Marnie Uhl, President & CEO of the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce. Lots of questions and great audience participation!

Special thanks go out to Michael Greer for her help at Registration Check-In; to Kay Gorman and Sandi Irwin for serving as our Welcome Ambassadors; to Anne Roper and her sister Kate Finis for handling our 50/50; and to Edie Harless for assisting with the jewelry sales. It makes it more fun with lots of volunteers so a big thank you to all of you.

AzFRW will host their biennial State Convention from October 21-23 at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. We circulated a clipboard for interested names for Club Delegates. We can really use 1 more Active Member to sign up to fill our quota. More info at our Sept. meeting.

Our mission as a Federated Republican Women's Club is to educate our members. Our emphasis as Prescott Valley RW is to keep you informed on our Town's events as well as opportunities to become involved and promote conservative values. There is so much negativity on so many issues at the current time we need to focus on the positive.

Please see the need for us, as citizens of our Town, to request books for our Library written by conservative authors. There is a group in Prescott that has been successful in requesting books for the Prescott library. Contact Linda Letzer, (lindaletzer@yahoo.com) if you wish to participate.

See you on September 7th!

President Mary

CARING FOR AMERICA

Each month, we select a project to help our community. Our AUGUST project was to sponsor a tree for one of our Town Parks which will bear a plaque naming PVRW as the sponsor of that tree! Thanks to your generosity, we raised $157.65 so we're well on our way. We will collect for the TREE FUND again in September. A 15 gallon tree is 4-6 feet and costs $250 so we're almost there!
