ECC Families,

Good evening. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and got to enjoy some extra down time with their family. This week is going to be very busy as we prepare for our upcoming Christmas programs. Make sure you read through the Christmas program information and note the programs begin at 6:30 PM on both evenings. The weather has been pretty unpredictable lately so make sure you are sending your child with appropriate outdoor clothing. We do try to go outside everyday based on our weather chart which can be found on our website. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and Go Chiefs!

God Bless,

Catherine M. Koob
Director
Advent is Here
Today we will begin the Advent season. The first candle on the Advent wreath will be lit and we begin preparing our hearts and minds for the birth of Jesus. At Presentation ECC we will light our first Advent candle on Tuesday morning and we will continue to light a new candle each week. With the lighting of our first candle Fr. Tom will be present to give us all a special blessing and share with the children why we are lighting these special candles each week.
Advent Resources
Please help yourself to the family Advent resources located on the table with our Advent Wreath.
Save the Date Christmas Program
Our annual Christmas Program for preschool and pre-k classes will be here before you know it. Make sure to mark your calendar for one of these dates. On both dates the program will start at 6:30 PM. Remember this program does not include the toddler or twos classrooms. Please through the information provided below and let us know if you have any additional questions.

Staff Christmas Gift
Below is a letter from one of our ECC parents, Christine Say. If you have any questions regarding this collection please contact Christine at AdverVern@aol.com

Dear ECC Families,

Christmas is just a few short weeks away!! To show our wonderful ECC teachers and staff how much we appreciate the work they do, there will be a coordinated cash gift collection this year. While trinkets and snacks are always appreciated, a nice year-end “bonus” from families can also be a wonderful blessing! (PTO does this each year for OLP teachers and staff, and it’s appreciated so very much!)

There will be a table set up the first week of December, and throughout the month, across from the sign-in computer. Please drop your cash gift in the box and sign the card on behalf of your child/family. Any amount is absolutely fine!

Please feel free to email or text me if you have any questions. 816-914-9057 or AdverVern@aol.com.

Thank you in advance for making this a special Christmas for the ECC!

Sincerely,

Christine Vernon Say (aka Nico’s mom in PreK)

Closed for Christmas 12/24-12/26
Our center will be closed for Christmas beginning Tuesday, December 24 through Thursday, December 26.
Coming and Leaving the Building
As you know we will be working through our procedures and updating some items as we move forward. We have identified some areas we will need your assistance with moving forward. We have a list below we would like all families to review. More formal documentation will be coming out at a later date.

  • All persons authorized to pick up or drop off students must enter the building using a key fob.
  • If a person is picking up who does not have a key fob they should be instructed to ring the doorbell to gain access from a staff member.
  • Staff members are the only people authorized to let a person in without a key fob.
  • All families were assigned two key fobs when their child was enrolled. If a key fob has been lost or additional fobs are needed they may be purchased at the front office. If someone continually requires entrance and does not have a key fob a new fob will be made and charged to their students tuition account.

Thank you for your assistance with keeping our students safe.
Inclement Weather Information
If we are ever closed due to weather in addition to the closing being listed on the news we will send out a remind notification to all of our families, the website will be updated, an email will go out, and a facebook update will be made. Please remember the ECC does not automatically close when OLP School or LSR7 closes we are a separate listing.

Crayola Colorcycle
One of our goals this year is to work on improvements and projects which help us become a greener center. A easy way to do this is to just recycle the items we already use on a daily basis. If you would like to join in there is a link below to the COLORCYCLE FAQ page. We have a container up front available for classes and families to drop off used up markers. They do not have to be Crayola brand to be recycled.

New Remind Notification Groups for 2019-2020 School Year
Families we had to set up new Remind groups based on your students last name. If you had previously subscribed to the Presentation ECC Families 2019-2020 group it has been deleted and you will need to resubscribe to one of the groups found in the link below. Sorry for the inconvenience changes were made after we sent out the information in the enrollment packets. When you click on the link below it will take you to the remind app page under the Current Family Secure Page. You will need the password, Famil$Ec$ (case sensitive)
