Presentation ECC Weekly Newsletter
Our Lady of the Presentation
Early Childhood Center
ECC Families,

Good evening. GO CHIEFS! It was a beautiful fall weekend. Not to bad for some trick or treating. We had a busy week last week. I know it was rough on many parents who are used to being a part of our classroom Halloween parties. We missed the extra help. I think the children still really enjoyed themselves and we were even still able to do our Halloween parade with the little guys. On the bright side there were no tears from little ones wanting to leave and go home with family members who attended. If you attended the Halloween Spooktacular and bought a 50/50 raffle ticket the winning number of $496 is ticket number 0176532. A big thank you to all of our families who supported this event as well as all of you for continuing to support our school and participating in any way you can. Many of our annual events have and will continue to look different this year. I think everyone from students, families and staff have done a great job of accepting the changes and are doing their best to make memories and enjoy new traditions. Coming up this month we will focus our lessons on thankfulness and what it means to be thankful for what we have. We are also asking for your help with our new Thanksgiving Feast classroom recipe books. Pre-K will go to Church on Wednesday and Toddlers and Twos will have Stretch-n-Grow classes on Friday. Finally a quick reminder for all adults and older siblings to please make sure to wear a face mask when entering our building. If you forgot one we have disposable ones in the office. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. See you tomorrow.

God Bless,

Catherine M. Koob

Sack Mass Participation
OLP’s Annual Leadership Team Sack Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 4, at 8:15 a.m. Although Pre-K will not be in attendance for Mass we would like for our families to have the opportunity to contribute to this worthwhile event. Families were sent home a flyer showing what Pre-K families may donate. You may grab a sack from the table up front and fill it with the donated items. Families will bring their sacks with donations inside to school on November 4th. All donations collected by families will be taken to Lee’s Summit Social Services and given as a donation to serve those in need. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the true meaning of giving and thank God for our many blessings.

Online Scholastic Book Fair until 11/8
Our Scholastic Book Fair will be online this year. You may order books through the link listed below. All orders will go towards our school goal and we will earn credit to purchase items for our school. The online fair will run from 10/26-11/8. Teacher wish lists will be uploaded onto our website and be available by end of day on Monday. We were having issues with the link so if you have problems keep trying we will send out an update if it changes.
Thanksgiving Feast 2020
Things are going to look different this year for our Thanksgiving Feast. Although we won’t be having our traditional celebration we hope to still make this a fun memorable event for our students. This year instead of inviting all of our families to the ECC to share a meal we are asking you to share one of your family’s special Thanksgiving recipes. Your child’s teacher will be sending home a recipe sheet. Please fill out the sheet completely and return the sheet to your child’s teacher by Thursday, 11/12.
Below you will find a link with more information about how we will do our Thanksgiving Feast celebration this year. If you have any questions please contact your child's teacher or the office staff.

Fall School Picture Sales Will End 11/15
Please follow the instructions in the flyer linked below to review your child's fall pictures. The password to view photos is "TooSlow" all one word and case sensitive. If you have any questions or do not see your child's pictures you may contact Sandy Braun at

Center Closed for Thanksgiving
Our Center will be closed on Thursday, 11/26 and Friday, 11/27 for Thanksgiving break.
Pre-K Church Visits
Since we are unable to attend School Mass right now. We have added an additional component to our religious education for the Pre-K classes. Twice a month switching between Wednesday and Thursday or Pre-K classes will go over to Presentation Church for a short session with one of our priests, Fr. Tom or Fr. Emmanuel. We will leave to walk over to the church at 9:00 AM on Wednesday's and 8:50 AM on Thursday's. If your child is not here when we leave to walk over to the church they will need to remain at the preschool until the classes return at 9:30. If you arrive and find you have just missed the classes heading over or if you have a conflict and will arrive during the session you may deliver your child to the church only after calling the preschool to let us know you are planning to walk your child into the church. Then you may enter through the north parking lot doors. We will contact their teacher and make them aware you are coming. These sessions will only last around 20-30 minutes. The dates and topics are listed below. Please be aware dates are subject to change based on the availability of Fr. Tom and Fr. Emmanuel.

Inclement Weather Information
If we decide to close due to weather in addition to the closing being listed on the news we will send out a remind notification to all of our families, the website will be updated, an email will go out, and a Facebook update will be made. Please remember the ECC does not automatically close when OLP School or LSR7 closes we are a separate listing.
