These are the Days...
"The crickets felt it was their duty to warn everybody that summertime cannot last forever. Even on the most beautiful days in the whole year – the days when summer is changing into autumn – the crickets spread the rumor of sadness and change."
―E.B. White,
Charlotte's Web
August is winding down and the market is showing the first signs of fall this weekend, with the arrival of winter squash and a plethora of pears. But don't let the tastes of summer slip away. Stock up on peaches, tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers and more, and preserve them for the winter by canning or freezing. And with school starting next week, be sure to grab some healthy snacks and fresh & local lunch box treats. Tomorrow promises to bring a welcome break in the heat and humidity and we're all looking forward to an idyllic day in our fair City. So come join us. Grab a breakfast sandwich and a seat on the fountain wall, chill out with some blues with Steve Brosky and shop all your favorite vendors.
See you in the circle!
