What's So Special About that Farmhouse?
And what does it take to preserve its history?
The size and sophistication of a property have little to do with its historic importance, or its value to future generations. The unassuming white farmhouse at the center of Iowa's Garst Family Farmstead represents significant, pioneering agricultural history and was also the site of an historic 1959 visit by Soviet premier Nikita Kruschev , in the midst of the Cold War. Read  this RDG Discovery article  to learn how partnering with a restoration architect can preserve historic properties for new generations.

Kansas Byway Interpretive Signage Gets Rave Reviews
The State of Kansas has twelve byways, all of which highlight the state's unique collection of landscapes and cultures
Current installations are creating some buzz as these new interpretive signs greet travelers along the Kansas Wetlands and Wildlife National Scenic Byway! RDG ’s Planning, Landscape Architecture and Graphic Design team developed a two-tiered interpretive system featuring kiosks and interpretive plazas to organize the multitude of stories and provide a coherent storytelling device for the Kansas Byways.
See feature stories about the system in the Great Bend Tribune and Hiawatha World Online.
