President Eileen's News Flash!
December 16, 2021
To My Esteemed and Amazing Fellow Rotarians!

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful time with your families and friends over the Thanksgiving holiday!

The holiday season is now here so I wanted to inform you all that we will have our last meeting of the year on Friday, December 16th, and will be dark for the meetings on December 24th and December 31st. Our next meeting will be on Friday, January 7th at noon at Fratello's. We have some great programs in the works including our own City Manager Tammy Letourneau on January 21st! Enjoy your holidays and have a fabulous time celebrating with your families and friends!

Below you will find a link to our current Rotary Roster so please reach out to Rotarians that you have been thinking about! Please also feel free to send birthday, anniversary, and Christmas cards to your Rotarians that are celebrating special occasions and just to let them know you are thinking of them!

A few of us Rotarians were able to visit two long-time Rotarians that have not been able to attend our meetings due to health reasons. I felt like I was in the presence of royalty with our driver Vito Ferlauto, Madame Kim Douglas, and Stewart Mims as we drove together to deliver gifts and spend some Christmas cheer to our friends! We were able to spend precious time with Jack Biggar and his wife Karol, and his neighbor and our dear Rotarian Miles Sterling and his wife Esther! They loved the beautiful Christmas throws, poinsettias, homemade cookies and hot chocolate that we gave to each of them with a special message from all of you! We let them know that their fellow Rotarians wish them a Merry Christmas and we all miss them dearly!
Our amazing Fellow Rotarian Mayor Elaine Gennawey and her son Ray were riding in cars in the Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade on Saturday, along with many amazing entries! Your President Eileen was able to run around Crown Valley Parkway to wave at them, wearing my Rotary hat and cheering them on to let them know Rotarians were present! Next year, we will be ready to walk for miles with our banner in the parade!
On Sunday, Rotarians attended our Rotary Holiday Potluck hosted by Bill and Ann Nguyen, and their entire family was there to help out! We all had such a wonderful time and we all would like to thank Bill and his family for hosting such a great evening in his beautiful home! He lit every fireplace and had heaters and blankets for us so we couldn't feel the cold air! I must say it was a magical evening with great food, great conversation and most of all, great company! We missed those of you that were unable to attend this year and we hope we can all be together next year!

Bill Nguyen and his amazing assistant Yesenia did a fantastic job coordinating dictionary deliveries with Rotarians! Stewart Mims was able to handle the last delivery all by himself and did a fantastic job! Thank you to all of you that volunteered your time and shared your dictionary story with the kids! Great job!
