President Trump to Impose 10% Tariff on Some EU Countries, UK, and Norway Starting Feb. 1

President Trump said in a Truth Social post on Saturday morning, Jan. 17, that starting Feb. 1 he will impose a 10% tariff on “any and all goods” imported into the U.S. from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, U.K., the Netherlands, and Finland, increasing the tariff to 25% by June 1.

“This Tariff will be due and payable until such time as a Deal is reached for the Complete and Total purchase of Greenland,” the president said.

He added, “The United States of America is immediately open to negotiation with Denmark and/or any of these Countries that have put so much at risk, despite all that we have done for them, including maximum protection, over so many decades.”

The NCBFAA Customs Committee and Counsel of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., will monitor the potential imposition of this tariff, as well as related Customs and Border Protection (CBP) guidance, and provide updates to our members as soon as its available.
