An education for the 21st century
Dear Colleagues,
I invite you to learn more about the Strategic Plan for Acadia University – Acadia 2025 – which we launched publicly today. (Thank you to those who were able to attend.)

The plan, developed over two years through cross-campus consultation, finetunes Acadia's vision, mission, and values and identifies five strategic directions to guide the University toward 2025.

Rising to challenges and uncertainty

There is no doubt that we are publicly announcing this plan at a time of tremendous disruption and challenge in the world. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the University to change our on-campus experience dramatically and offer new, remote education and outreach.

Considerable uncertainty is ahead, but by working together, we are rising to these challenges. We can achieve success only because of our faculty and staff's dedication, determination, and expertise. I am sincerely grateful to our task force for their hard work and dedication and to all Acadia community members who contributed ideas, thoughts, and critiques throughout our planning process.

Strategic directions that embrace change

Now it is time to put our plan into action. Please review the new Strategic Plan website and the Strategic Plan Summary of Acadia 2025. Over the coming months, our leadership team will revisit the phased implementation plans for each strategic direction to clarify how we will deliver our promise to our students and community.

Every aspect of our daily work can be supported by the Strategic Plan and its guiding principles.

Together, we are transforming lives

Remember this, Acadia has a long and proud history. We will exist long after the virus is contained, and the University will emerge from this difficult time more resilient and better focused on delivering the best education for the 21st century.

I have faith in us and the new course we set together. We instinctively and subconsciously followed Acadia 2020's key directives during our response to the pandemic. Imagine our future when we use it with purpose.

Thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do for our students and Acadia University. By working together, we will continue our life's work to transform lives for a transforming world.
Sincerely,

Peter
