Dear UFCW Local 1776 members,
This week we learned that both President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have contracted Covid-19. After months and months of ignoring, downplaying and lying about the virus, we have over 200,000 Americans dead from this awful virus and over 7 million infected, including now the President and First Lady.
This awful virus has infected nearly 1,000 and sadly killed 7 members of this local union. No one should have to suffer from this virus and we can all do our part to stop the spread.
Now that the President of the United States has contracted Covid-19 I truly hope that we will finally reject the conspiracy theories and misinformation and accept the science and the guidelines from agencies like the CDC and PA Department of Health.
No one deserves to get this virus. No one deserves to suffer from this. But we can stop Covid-19 if we work together: wear your mask or faceshields, avoid large gatherings and wash your hands frequently. If you need a mask or faceshield, please contact your union representative. We have a set of masks and faceshields that feature the UFCW Local 1776 logo that I would love you to wear.
Together, responsibly, we can beat Covid-19

Esta semana nos enteramos de que tanto el presidente Donald Trump como la primera dama Melania Trump contrajeron Covid-19. Después de meses y meses de desentenderse del virus, restarle importancia y mentir al respecto, han fallecido más de 200.000 estadounidenses por este terrible virus y más de 7.000.000 de personas se contagiaron en el país, entre ellas ahora el presidente y la primera dama.
Este horrible virus ha infectado a casi 1.000 personas de nuestro sindicato local y lamentablemente ha matado a siete. Nadie tendría que sufrir este virus; todos y todas podemos hacer nuestra parte para detener la propagación.
Ahora que el presidente de Estados Unidos contrajo Covid-19, realmente espero que finalmente rechacemos las teorías conspirativas y la desinformación y aceptemos la ciencia y las pautas de organismos como los CDC y el Departamento de Salud de PA.
Nadie merece contraer este virus. Nadie merece sufrirlo. Pero podemos detener la enfermedad Covid-19 si trabajamos conjuntamente: usemos máscara o protector facial, evitemos reuniones entre muchas personas y lavémonos las manos con frecuencia. Si alguna persona necesita una mascarilla o protector facial, se puede comunicar con su representante sindical. Tenemos juegos de máscaras y protectores faciales con el logo de UFCW Local 1776 que nos encantaría que usaran.
