Presidents Monthly Update June 2025

Friends,

As we move into June and prepare for the summer, we are still basking in the glory of celebrating our 2025 graduates!

Among our many accomplished graduates was Ryan Kenny — “QB1” (First String Varsity Quarterback!) — who we celebrate for his academic record in the classroom and athletic success on the field as one of our first-ever Bisignano scholars. The scholarship was funded by Trustee ex officio Alexa Bisignano and her father, Frank Bisignano. Frank was recently named Commissioner of the Social Security Administration, and — like Ryan — is a proud Brooklyn native who worked hard to achieve his dreams. We congratulate Frank on his appointment and thank him for his generous support of students like Ryan as we now prepare for another summer of further investing in our students … and in our campus.

Facilities Modernization Plan

A major part of our Campus Plan is our continued investment in Facilities Modernization. We are on schedule this summer to finalize the SKAE Astronomy Center — donated by Peter and Leslie Skae — and our new Track & Field, which will complete a transformational investment in our campus infrastructure over the past five years. Please review our Facilities Modernization Plan (click link), which outlines the major projects we completed over this timeframe.

Technology Corridor

We are now excited to share plans for a series of innovative investments in our academic programs and classrooms. We are proud to launch a new Technology Corridor modernization plan with two classrooms, both funded by named donors:

  • Alden Hyflex Classroom
  • Ridgewood Savings Bank Data Analytics Lab

Together with the TV Studio, Digital Imaging Lab, Bloomberg Lab, and Media Classroom, these spaces will begin to redefine the Spellman Technology Corridor as a contemporary hub for leading edge instruction, research, and learning.

Outdoor Fitness Center

We are also excited to further demonstrate our commitment to the health and wellness of our students with a new Outdoor Fitness Center that has also been fully funded by generous donors and supporters of the College, such as George and Patricia Kraus

Former Camp Venture Building

Consistent with our original plans, we have made the decision to tear down the former Camp Venture building. This will allow us to position the property for much longer-term fundraising and strategic investment.

As we complete this major facilities transformation, we express our deepest thanks to our generous donors. We look forward to further supporting our current and future students so that they, too, can succeed in the classroom, on the field, and beyond!

Regards,

Ken Daly
