    Point Lonsdale Christmas Tree

On behalf of the Club' Executive I would like to take this opportunity to wish all members, their families and our generous sponsors and supporters a Merry Christmas. If you're travelling on the roads please take extra care as you come and go.
We are literally on the eve of our busiest period. A huge thank you in advance for the many hours of voluntary work that so many will assist with in the many areas of our Club over coming weeks.
I encourage you to keep up to date via Facebook or Twitter, or failing that by seeing our Facebook posts on our website home page. This is our primary form of providing timely and regular updates especially this time of year.

    Nipper reminders:
The first day of Nippers is almost here ! It all kicks off Thursday 28th at 9:30am @ Santa Casa Beach Queenscliff.
The day before will see a gear collection session and instructor training. See calendar for more information.
Finally, the Calendar can be downloaded here :

Reminder : Online entries for the RVSC are open and filling quickly:
Our largest annual fundraising event, the Rip View Swim Classic is being held on Saturday 30 December and you can help in 2 ways - Firstly to promote the event to friends, family and colleagues and secondly we need a huge army of volunteers !
With less than a week until the 30th Rip View Swim Classic, things are rapidly getting into gear. Thanks to the many people who are helping to get this organised, but we are still looking for a few more volunteers to take on roles. If you are keen to help out, send an email to to take part. For everyone else who is already involved, there will be a swim meeting at the clubrooms at 6pm on Friday 29th to go through all the last minute details. Let's hope this year is just as successful as the last few !

Surveying works complete for Back Beach Base project:
Our Surveyors recently completed their works at the Back Beach. This vital work will allow for detailed plans to be drawn as part of the project to remove the section of the building riddled with concrete cancer and to hopefully allow for a slightly larger building to accommodate modern life saving equipment.

Glaneuse Bar Member and Friends Night:
Boxing Day will see the Bar start it's regular summer open period, kicking off at 5pm, before the Pop Up opens the following night. We welcome our new Bar Manager Will who takes over from Jay.

    Reminder : Summer Pop Up:
The engagement and chatter on Facebook about Taco Truck has been amazing and we're expecting some big numbers when this opens Wed 27/12. This season's Pop Up runs through until Sun 14/01. It will be open every night from 5pm (apart from NYE).
Keep an eye out on Facebook for Pop Up updates.

Welcome Ronnie and Di to the Office:
In the last week we have welcomed our new Office team - Ronnie who replaces Deb as Administration Officer and Di who replaces Donna as Bookkeeper / Admin assistant.
Both Ronnie and Di have great skills to bring to the Club but are on a steep learning curve, so please be patient as they come up to speed.
Office hours over the next month are as follows:
9:00 am to 1:00pm as follows over the peak Summer period:
    Wed 27/12, Thur 28/12 & Fri 29/12.
