  • This Edition

I'm sure that many of you are enjoying the start of Spring which also sees activity going up a gear as we prepare for another peak period over Summer.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people working behind the scenes to help ensure Season 2019 / 2020 will be a success across all areas. Just a sample of these activities include various Grant applications, Life Saving Services and Training and Assessment updates at LSV, Aquatic Sports planning, promotional visit to local primary school, Cadet and Bronze Camp application reviews and short listing, Membership renewal / application processing, Gear Inspection preparation, Gold Medallion Camp and lot's of Meetings !

    Position Vacant: Assistant Swim Director
Do you have event management experience and looking for a way to help out at the club?
We are looking for an Assistant Swim Director to help with organisation of the Rip View Swim Classic. This event is one of our biggest fundraisers, and requires a large team of people and lots of organisation every year to run successfully. If you are interested in taking on the role of Assistant Swim Director, contact James Coutie at to find out more about the position.

A reminder that "early bird membership renewal" is about to close - this Sunday is the last day to grab the early bird savings for renewals!

This Season we have kept our membership subscriptions the same as the previous two seasons, no increases for 3 seasons. We have been able to do this by sound financial management processes and we're proud to share this.
We are asking however that all members or house holds make a one off donation to the new Clubhouse fund with their membership this Season. If you have done this, or made a donation through the Capital Campaign then a HUGE thank you as you have helped the wonderful effort of raising over an amazing $ 1.85M.
We believe that it is only fair and right that all members who will enjoy these new facilities help financially and here is your chance to turn more than 10 years of dreams and planning into reality with your one off donation.
Donating is really easy, tax deductible and will be directed to the rebuilding program. Even if you have renewed your membership all the information on how to do this can be found on our New Clubhouse webpage -

    Vale - Geoff Speed
The Committee and Members of the Point Lonsdale Surf Life Saving Club mourn the passing of past Member Geoff Speed. Our sincere condolences to Ros, Andrew, Caroline and families.
Awarded a 25 Year Long Service Award in 2012, Geoff made a large contribution to the Club and community for many years in particular with Nippers as well as with the Annual Doorknock and Rip View Swim Classic.
Geoff was a regular on the Nipper BBQ team during the 1980s to 2010's and also at the Annual Nipper Championships where he assisted for many years.

    From the Building Committee

The team have been very busy behind the scenes and the design development process is almost complete. We look forward to further updates in the near future.
