THE FUTURE OF ST. PIUS X

StPius1351 JOHN PREFERENCEsm.jpg

Years ago, I heard the sage advice that if you visit a college that does not have active construction underway somewhere on campus, you might want to ask some crucial questions about the institution's future plans.  Early in 2021, St. Pius X was fortunate enough to acquire property across Johnson Road and make that purchase without incurring any debt because of thoughtful savings.  Now it is time we look toward other endeavors that will bolster our community in the future.  As disruptive and inconvenient construction may be, it is a sign of growth, health, and vibrancy.

MILLION DOLLAR MATCH CHALLENGE

A generous donor has stepped forward to challenge us to raise $1 million by the end of March 2022 and they will match that amount dollar for dollar!

This campaign will serve current and future generations of Golden Lions alike with a complete renovation to the Library and Media Center; a new secure entrance at the front and rear of the school; lights, restrooms, and lockers at the Seaver Family Sports Complex; and a brand new Field House. While construction will begin in summer 2022, pledges and gifts can be spread out over the next three years, allowing you to make a larger gift and impact over time.

For more than 60 years, St. Pius X has cultivated a family grounded in Christ. Join us for this opportunity to deepen the sense of place that so many call “home.”

DID YOU KNOW

The statue of St. Pius X was dedicated on January 6, 1961, on what was then the expansive front lawn of the school. The statue was a visible landmark to the entire community. The work was commissioned by Msgr. Patrick O'Connor and funded by an anonymous donor. It was hand carved in Italy by Carlo Pisi. It is eight and a half feet high and weighs four tons. With the expansion of the school in 1984-85, the statue was moved by crane on October 3, 1984 to its present location. The stone inscription next to the statue was part of its original base.
