Dear St. Pius X Family,
It's hard to believe another school year is upon us. Like many of you, I find myself wondering, "Where did the time go?" For educators, summer is a time for rest, reflection, and preparation. Throughout July, we've been diligently preparing for the upcoming year and ways to enhance St. Pius X.
During our leadership retreat, we focused on our school’s value proposition—the reasons families should invest in our school. We celebrated our Catholic faith, exceptional teachers, rigorous academics, diverse programs, and our welcoming community. Reflecting on our strengths reminded us of the uniqueness and importance of our school community. This year’s theme, “Be Uncommon,” drives us to deliver an education that integrates faith with a well-rounded curriculum in a supportive environment.
I'm excited to announce the completion of our Ring the Bells Capital Campaign construction. We've moved into the state-of-the-art St. Joan of Arc Field House, including a 5,000-square-foot strength and conditioning center accessible to every student. Following discussions last spring, we identified a need for enhanced STEM resources. Thanks to a generous million-dollar grant from a private foundation, we will transform the old weight room in Donnellan into a cutting-edge STEM lab. Consultations with Georgia Tech professors have informed our plans, and we hope to start construction this school year.
In line with our theme of "Be Uncommon," we're implementing an innovative cell phone policy. To foster a focused learning environment and encourage meaningful interactions, we're adopting a policy that restricts cell phone use from 8 am to 3 pm. This initiative aims to provide protected time for learning, socializing, and even moments of boredom, which can stimulate creativity and reflection. Our pastoral approach seeks to create a Christ-centered environment where we can be fully present to one another.
In closing, I extend my sincere gratitude for your continued support. St. Pius X is renowned in Atlanta and beyond for our unique mission and close-knit family atmosphere. We owe this reputation to those who laid the foundation. Together, let's continue striving to graduate students who embody the spirit of being uncommon by leading lives of faith and significance. Please keep our students, faculty, and staff in your prayers as we embark on this academic year's journey together.
Domini Sumus, We are the Lord’s.
