INTRODUCING
ELEVATE 2030: EXCEPTIONAL FAITH, EXTRAORDINARY FUTURES

Dear St. Pius X Community,

Over the past year, we have undertaken a prayerful and collaborative journey to envision the future of St. Pius X Catholic High School—a future grounded in our faith and dedicated to the growth of every student who walks our halls. Today, I am excited to share the fruits of that journey: Elevate 2030: Exceptional Faith, Extraordinary Futures, a bold roadmap that will guide us through the coming years and position our school for even greater impact on generations to come.

Rooted in our core values of Faith, Family, Stewardship, Rigor, and Growth, this plan is more than a document—it is a shared commitment to becoming the very best version of the school God calls us to be. With the input of faculty, students, parents, alumni, and supporters, we have identified four key strategic priorities that will shape our work:

  • Inspiring Excellence: We will invest in and empower our educators to pursue academic innovation, personal growth, and professional excellence—transforming lives through exceptional teaching and learning.
  • Building Community: We will form compassionate, faith-filled leaders who are prepared to serve others and strengthen the bonds that unite our school family.
  • Igniting Futures: We will expand access to a St. Pius X education and create new opportunities for students to discover their God-given gifts and purpose.
  • Transforming Spaces: We will cultivate a campus that inspires faith, fosters belonging, and opens doors to what is possible.

This is a plan rooted in our mission and inspired by our hopes for the future. It will take all of us—students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends—to bring it to life. Together, we will ensure that St. Pius X remains a beacon of Catholic education and a home where every young person can grow in wisdom, grace, and purpose.

With gratitude for your partnership and prayers for what lies ahead,

Aaron Parr ’06

President

NATIONAL MERIT SEMIFINALISTS

St. Pius X is proud to announce that five of our students, Richard Burke, Liv Casal, Sophia Darling, Julianna Esper, and Andrew Someren, have been named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Based on their exceptional PSAT scores from last fall, these students rank among the top 1% of high school seniors nationwide. They will next submit applications to be considered for National Merit Finalist status, which will be announced in February. We congratulate them on this remarkable academic accomplishment!

GOLDEN LIONS FALL SPORTS ROAR INTO ACTION!

We're already halfway through our Fall Sports seasons, with Winter Sports lurking right around the corner!

Our football team was invited to the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic, and beat Dunwoody 15-12 to open the season. The Golden Lions had the honor of playing at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, for the first time. The win was part of a 4-0 start, the first in 12 years.

Softball is off to a 13-10 start, with seven of those losses coming to top-ten teams in the state. The Golden Lions, who sit second in the region, recently defeated previously unbeaten Mount Vernon 10-2.

Competitive Cheer finished second in their first competition of the season.

Girls and Boys Cross Country are off to a flying start, with the boys finishing second as a team at the Cartersville Wire 2 Wire event.

Volleyball is battling for postseason position in 4A-Region 5, compiling a 21-16 overall record. The young Lions have four freshmen contributing on the varsity team, and look forward to their annual Claws for a Cause charity match at Marist on October 2.

Finally, the uber-popular Girls Flag Football is off and running, after tryouts featuring almost 90 girls. After six games on the road, the Golden Lions' first home match is October 23 against North Atlanta and Riverwood.

Come check out a game and cheer on your Golden Lions! Tickets are available at gofan.co.

SPX DEBATE TEAM OFF TO A STRONG START!

The St. Pius X debate team recently won the opening tournament of the season, the Alpharetta Treasure Hunt. The Golden Lions entered two teams, finishing first and second in the 24-team competition. Led by senior Team Captain Ashlyn Loving, the team members were freshmen Allison Bombardier and Rahwa Tsadwa, and juniors Jack Willadsen and Anna Kallis. Both teams compiled a perfect 5-0 record.

"I am very proud of them as they won their first-ever tournament that they competed in, which is not common," said team moderator Dr. Andrew Lauer, a science teacher at St. Pius X. "Last year, we had two teams attend, and they went 0-8, and this year our two teams went 10-0. So, as you can imagine, this is quite the accomplishment for them."

In addition, Bombardier was named the second-best speaker, while fellow freshman Tsadwa was named 6th-best speaker.

The debate team is one of four competitive academic teams at St. Pius X, and it competes in National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) sponsored events. The season runs from September to March. Congratulations, Golden Lions!

FIRST FALL FESTIVAL A BIG HIT ON CAMPUS

On Friday, September 19, the Enrollment Office hosted its first Fall Festival that brought together students, families, faculty, and friends for an evening full of fun and community spirit. Over 200 K–8 graders from our Partner Schools joined us on campus to enjoy food trucks, a lively petting zoo, and festive games led by our amazing Lion Leaders. The night was filled with laughter, great food, and lasting connections. We love sharing the St. Pius X spirit with our community!
