GYM UPGRADES FUNDED WITH ANNUAL FUND DOLLARS

If you’ve ever wondered just how impactful your Annual Fund contribution is, look no further than the Mark Kelly Gymnasium! The long-awaited and much-needed new air conditioning system is currently being installed and will finally provide relief to the 1,200 souls who pack the gym each month for our All-School Masses. Couple that with the new gym floor that is being laid during April and May, and you will see that your Annual Fund dollars are making a significant impact this year in improving both the Mass experience and the many athletic contests and special events that take place in the gym. If you’ve already contributed to this year’s fund, we thank you! If you have not yet given, please take this opportunity to support the school, knowing your contribution is providing for a better St. Pius X. We appreciate your support!

ST. PIUS X INTRODUCES FOUR NEW ELECTIVES

St. Pius X is excited to share that four innovative electives have been added to the 2023-2024 course catalog. Our students have a variety of interests and learning styles, and these new electives reflect the St. Pius X value of developing the intellectual, physical, psychological, moral, and religious capabilities of every student.

Students who love history and athletics will enjoy the new Baseball Across the Curriculum elective, which will explore baseball’s intersection with American culture from 1840 to the present day, looking through the lens of baseball as a reflection of our society and our culture.

For students interested in the legal system, the Introduction to Law elective will provide students with an understanding of the framework of American law, with a particular focus on criminal law, family law, contemporary issues, and law-related careers.

The Musical Theater I elective is a great choice for students who enjoy various performing arts, as it explores musical theater as an artistic form that focuses on singing, acting, and dancing.

For the singers in the student body, Vocal Studio (Men's and Women's) is dedicated to individualized vocal instruction for singers of all grades, styles, and backgrounds.

RING THE BELLS CAPITAL CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS

Construction has begun on the new Field House, located directly behind Maloof Stadium on the former softball field. The 26,000-square-foot building includes a weight training facility, athletic training room, offices, storage, and two classrooms that convert to a larger space for film viewing, meetings, and events. Slated to take at least a year to build, this facility also houses locker rooms for cheer, football, lacrosse, soccer, wrestling, and physical education classes.
