St. Pius X, together with Parrish Construction and CDH Architects, will be celebrating the "topping out" of the new Field House next week. The topping out ceremony, which involves setting the final structural beam in place, is a long-standing tradition and signifies a major milestone for any building project. Topping out ceremonies, which originated in Scandinavia, celebrate the completion of a building's frame and the hard work of those who contributed to reaching the milestone.
Students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to sign the topping out beam during lunch periods on Tuesday and Wednesday. The beam will be painted white and navy, and gold Sharpies will be used to sign the beam. The St. Pius X Chi Rho will also be affixed to the beam. If you happen to be on campus next week, join us in celebrating the completion of the steel framing by signing the beam.
St. Pius X extends a special thank you to the Parrish Construction team, CDH Architects, and the Ring the Bells Capital Campaign Building Committee for their efforts in reaching this construction milestone.
