President's Update

Dear Families,

The end of the second quarter marks the official halfway point of the school year, and it's hard to believe that Seniors are wrapping up their final semester at Malden Catholic! As the Class of 2024 makes important decisions regarding their college plans for the fall, we've witnessed impressive college acceptances at some of the nation's top schools. The remarkable part is not only seeing students securing spots at these colleges and universities but also earning substantial scholarships – truly an outstanding achievement.

As our soon-to-be graduates discuss the next steps in their journey with their parents/guardians, we are thrilled to see a significant number of 8th-grade families expressing interest in becoming the next class of Lancers at 99 Crystal St. The exceptional interest in MC speaks volumes about our positive and vibrant community, firmly rooted in our spiritual values of simplicity, humility, compassion, trust, and zeal. Our faculty/staff along with our dedicated families work collaboratively to nurture an environment where students not only excel academically but also grow personally and spiritually.

There is a lot to look forward to in these coming weeks at MC! Campus Ministry has had a very successful Winter Essentials Drive, and we would like to thank the families who have participated in donating winter items to the Malden Warming Center. Brother Puccio and Lizzie Foy ’24 travelled to Hartford, CT to plan the Xaverian Brother Sponsored Schools Student Leadership Retreat that will take place in March. Lastly, we will come together as a school to celebrate Catholic Schools Week during the week of January 29.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey P. Smith '95, P'24. '26
