Dear Optimist Club Presidents,
Get going now to end your year strong! This is the last year of the current ICD-135 Optimist International recognition program. The requirements for the recognition are very doable. You can do this! Let’s have the most Honor and Distinguished Clubs on record! Below are the requirements to earn Honor and Distinguished Club Status.
Honor Club
- Complete three or more service projects during the Optimist year.
- Recognize a Club member or local community individual.
- Grow Club by Net of +3 in membership.
- Conduct a Membership Recruitment/Drive (i.e. New Optimists Welcome (NOW) or Welcoming Optimists Worldwide (WOW)) Program.
- Appoint a Club Foundation Representative.
- Make a non-restricted contribution to the OIF or CCOF of at least $100.
- Club President, Club President-Elect (or two Designees) attend District Convention (or two other District meetings/conferences).

Club President, Club Secretary/Treasurer and Club Foundation Representative complete the training for their role on the Optimist Institute. NOTE: These training modules will close on March 31. They must be completed prior to March 31.
- Complete the Club Pride and Club Officer-Elect Reports on their Optimist Leaders Club page.
- Be current on District and OI Dues and Fees.
- Club Bylaws to be in compliance with Standard Club Bylaws.
Distinguished Club - Meet Honor Club Criteria plus one of the following:
- Add Net +15* in membership
- Charter one or more new Clubs
- Increase by Net +8 and charter two or more JOI Clubs
*The +3 required for Honor Club is included in the +15 or +8 required for Distinguished Club.
