Dear Members of the Senior Leadership Team,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I’d like to express our sincere appreciation for your leadership, talents, passion and dedication you bring everyday, especially during these challenging times.
The IMSA Board of Trustees is beginning the process of seeking the 4th president in the history of the Academy to replace President José M. Torres who will be retiring at the end of the academic year.
We are treating the presidential transition as a strategic imperative which supports and protects IMSA’s reputation, value proposition, and integrity. The Board has appointed IMSA Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Erin Roche (‘89) to lead a Presidential Search Committee (PSC) which includes Trustees Roche, Dr. Paula Olszewski-Kubilius, Kathleen Clarke (‘93), Dr. Steve Sims, Dr. Luis Núñez, Dr. Marsha Rosner, and four non-trustees. In past searches, the Director of Human Resources has supported the PSC. Therefore, Traci Ellis, Chief Human Resources Officer and Toni Peterson, Senior Administrative Assistant, have been tapped to provide executive support to the PSC. The purpose of the PSC is to identify and nominate, consistent with IMSA’s mission and the Board’s current strategic initiatives, to the IMSA Board of Trustees one President candidate for the Board’s consideration.
We are committed to a transparent and inclusive process with PSC representation from alumni, faculty, staff, and Cabinet. We have created a PSC Interest Application form for staff who wish to be considered for participation in the PSC. We will be promoting the application to staff and sending you all applicant submissions by September 23, 2020 for review.
We ask that SLT nominate three finalists from the staff applicant pool using the PSC Nominee Submission Form, including the name of each nominee and a 3-4 sentence summary of why you believe an individual meets the selection criteria for the PSC by September 30, 2020. We understand the turnaround time is short and very much appreciate your partnership in helping us establish the PSC in a timely manner.
You are welcome to define a review process that works best for you; however, please ensure your process is clear, transparent and ensures each application is reviewed and given due process.
