Presidential Search Update

Team,

I wanted to keep you informed about the progress of the search for the new President. Our Trustees, the Idaho State Board of Education, are finalizing plans for a comprehensive national search and intend to announce a new President by January 1, 2024. This means that we will not have an interim leader and ISU will welcome its new President by the start of the spring semester.

The Board expects to announce a search committee of Board members, Idaho State University representatives, alumni, and community leaders, supported by an executive search firm, in the next few weeks. The search committee will be chaired and led by SBOE members Cally Roach and Cindy Siddoway, both of whom are ISU alumni.

The search will be inclusive with many opportunities for input from campus and the community throughout the process. The search firm will conduct campus listening sessions early in the fall semester. The search committee will screen the applicants, conduct initial interviews, and invite finalists to campus later in the semester.

I recently spoke to Dr. Linda Clark, President of the State Board and she said, “ISU has established great momentum over the last five years and the State Board is committed to finding a new president who will continue to build on that momentum moving forward. ISU’s growing enrollment and the excitement on campus, in the community and among alumni will attract top candidates for consideration.”

When I talked to search co-chair, Cindy Siddoway, she wanted me to let the campus know that, “as ISU alumni, Board member Cally Roach and I share deep connections and hold much gratitude for Idaho State University. As search committee co-chairs, we are eager to work with ISU stakeholders to find the next president to lead the university to new heights in the coming years.”

I am excited for the University as we move into this next phase and have every confidence in our Board of Trustees to bring the right talented leader to continue moving ISU forward.
