THE NABOB FOUNDATION, MOREHOUSE COLLEGE AND DAVIS BROADCASTING PARTNER TO LAUNCH
 “SOCIAL MEDIA TODAY” INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
WINTER OF 2020
Washington, DC, October 29, 2019 – The National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters Telecommunications Education and Management Foundation (NABOB Foundation) and NABOB member Davis Broadcasting, Inc. of Columbus, GA. are excited to announce their partnership with the Morehouse College Management, Marketing & Sales department to establish the “Social Media Today” internship program, which is set to roll out this January.

This collaboration is a “first” to offer a junior or senior a real-world, social media, digital and communications experience inside the Davis Broadcasting, Inc. commercial media center at its Atlanta, Ga operations. This “real-world,” year-long curriculum was designed under the guidance of Dimensions Media, LLC, a digital marketing agency in Atlanta, GA. Its CEO & Founder, Ms. Ashley Smith, will serve as the internship coordinator during the inaugural year of the program.

NABOB Foundation President Jim Winston, states “Most often younger employees bring a unique perspective and insight to the current social media trends of today that many traditional media companies, just don’t see. By nurturing this talent, the NABOB Foundation is investing in the future development of these subject matter experts who will excel in both broadcast and digital media companies."

“Being able to incorporate the fresh ideas of an intern who lives and breathes social media, both directly and indirectly, is invaluable to a company of our size,” states Greg Davis Jr, Vice President/Atlanta Market Manager of Davis Broadcasting, Inc. “I am confident that after an intern completes this program, they will offer any company an immediate ROI.” As a graduate of Morehouse College, Greg is enthused to be a part of this initiative.

Dr. Cassandra Wells, Academic Program Director of Management, Marketing & Sales at
Morehouse College, states “Academic learning can only take you so far. You start to blossom and sharpen the professional skills needed in your career, once you are on the job. I anticipate the recipient of this internship will gain practical and realistic experience in how to do the job well.” As the host of the NABOB Media Sales Institute (MSI) at Morehouse College since 2016; Dr. Wells sees this internship as a “natural extension of the already successful MSI program at Morehouse.”
