Castro Valley, CA - ( May 11, 2017) - At the Board Meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education took action and appointed Mr. Jason Reimann, Ed.D as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services to replace Mrs. Mary Boyle who is retiring after forty-one years of service in public education. Dr. Reimann will start in Castro Valley on July 1, 2017.

For the last four years, Dr. Reimann has served as the Director of Instructional Services for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, a TK-12 district of 32,000 students.  Previously, he served as Principal for the San Ramon Valley Unified School District and the West Contra Costa Unified School District.

Dr. Reimann earned his degree as an Education Specialist (Ed.S.), Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership from UC Berkeley and his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Literature from UC Santa Cruz.

"We are fortunate to have Dr. Reimann join our team in Castro Valley. He will continue the great work that Mrs. Boyle has spearheaded the last three years in Castro Valley. I am very confident Dr. Reimann's experience and expertise will serve our students and district well," Superintendent Ahmadi said.

The district received 52 applications from across the country for the position and conducted screening interviews for 12 candidates before selecting six individuals for the panel interview (two 60 minute panels including a mock board presentation).  The panels consisted of teachers, classified staff, site and district administrators and parents.  Two candidates were then selected for a final 90-minute interview with the superintendent and assistant superintendents.
