The school's Synergy Award was first established in 2009 to honor a talented student who demonstrated leadership and overall success within each of its five degree programs.  Liz, who graduated Summa Cum Laude, was excited to have received this level of recognition from her peers and instructors.  She explained that, in addition to her studies, she had organized fundraisers, was actively involved in community service, participated in functions representing the Interior Design Program and college and demonstrated leadership in and out of the classroom. And, as Ms. McCarthy pointed out, all while raising a young family.  In her introduction, McCarthy thanked Liz for her enthusiasm toward the college's outreach programs which included Healthy Spaces, elaborating by adding,"an integral part of the ASID Student chapter she volunteered as its secretary and lead the chapter to complete several successful projects and fundraising activities.  This graduate has already secured a position with a successful Design company in Cleveland where she has been able to implement a design competition which will benefit current students of interior design in the region."  That design company is Environments by Design, a design collaborative in Middleburg Heights that showcases the products and talents of nearly two dozen local professionals.
