VACAVILLE, Calif. – Vacaville City Coach will resume fare collection on February 1, 2023 following a nearly three year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the response to COVID-19, fares were suspended by most transit agencies, and services subsidized by CARES Act funding. Moving into a post-COVID environment, on October 25, 2022, the City Council took action to set a fare for the City Coach Direct service and resuming collection for existing services. The City Coach team will continue their commitment to providing the most reliable, efficient, and affordable transportation options in the region.

Beginning February 1, 2023, riders will be required to pay the standard fare when they board City Coach buses, use paratransit, or ride City Coach Direct. This fare will assist in covering the cost of maintaining the fleet, providing a safe and comfortable ride, and offering service in areas where other transportation options are limited.

Bus passes with the year 2020 or older will not be accepted. Only new passes with the year 2023 and passes without a specified year will be accepted at this time.

Currently, bus passes may be purchased from the Finance Department at Vacaville City Hall, 650 Merchant Street, Ulatis Community Center, 1000 Ulatis Drive, McBride Senior Center, 91 Town Square Place, and Lucky’s Supermarket, 1979 Peabody Road. It is anticipated that additional purchase locations will be added in the near term. Access the City Coach website for up-to-date information at CityCoach.com.

The City Coach team looks forward to continuing to serve the Vacaville community and providing the best transportation options available.
