The Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) has announced the winners of the 2018 Ohio River Sweep Poster Contest. The Ohio River Sweep is an annual riverbank cleanup held along the Ohio River and its major tributaries.

The Grand Prize Winner is Hannah Jones, an eleventh grader at Mt. Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh, PA. She will receive a $500 prize and her artwork will be used to promote the 2018 Ohio River Sweep.  In addition, the art department of Mt. Lebanon High School will receive $100 for art supplies.

The T-shirt Design Winner is Landon Reid, a second grader at Glenn O. Swing Elementary School in Covington, KY. He will receive a $500 prize and his poster design will be used as the basis for the T-shirt design for all Ohio River Sweep shirts. Each volunteer for the Ohio River Sweep receives a free T-shirt.

There were 13 other grade level winners: grades K - 12.  They each will receive a $50 prize.  A complete list of winners and images of their posters is available on the Ohio River Sweep web page.

"It is always a joy to view the student artwork and select the winners. We thank every student who submitted a poster this year!" said Lisa Cochran, project manager for the Ohio River Sweep.

The 2018 Ohio River Sweep will be held Saturday, June 16.
