The 4-H Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County announces their annual “A-Fair to Remember” June 4th, 2023

(Millbrook, NY) With Spring in the air, the Dutchess County 4-H Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension is planning their 2nd gala luncheon event to raise money so all Dutchess County youth have an opportunity to participate in the diverse and engaging youth programming provided throughout the year and around the county!

This fair-themed luncheon will provide guests real “Fair Shake” milkshakes, fresh lemonade, and traditional fair foods from 5 local food trucks catering for all diets, plus goodies such as cotton candy and popcorn. Lunch is just part of the fun! Guests will engage in this festive event that will also feature music and activities that provided interaction with the 4-H’ers this event celebrates. These youth from throughout Dutchess County will be showcasing their many animals, crafts, and a variety of other hands-on games and activities they perfect throughout the year. There is a live auction for selected ‘high end’ prizes and a silent auction to fit all pockets! Millbrook Winery is proudly hosting this unique event.

"We created this fundraising when we realized that, for many families, attending Fair caused financial hardship. It is also an opportunity to bring 4-H’ers together with our community to celebrate their accomplishments while providing our supporters a chance to experience firsthand the generous impact their gifts have given these young people.” said Jane Rodd, long time Program Leader of the 4-H Program in Dutchess County. “The dedication of our staff, volunteers and youth participants is inspiring. Our goals are to ensure no 4-H’er who has earned their place at the fair misses out, to enable youth from low-income/immigrant families in Northeast Dutchess to join us, and to support youth with special needs in our Flourishing Farmers program to participate”.

Sponsorship opportunities are available and directly contribute to the goal of this event to help every child involved with the Dutchess County 4-H program to participate at the Dutchess County Fair. Personal donations are welcome, which might include prizes for the auction.

Tickets are available and going fast! For complete information and to easily purchase tickets online, please visit the Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCEDC) website: www.ccedutchess.org Children 5 and under are free and children between 6-10 years old are half price for the day.
