6th Street Playhouse to Present Oliver!
The beloved musical tale of everyone's favorite orphan.
November 15 to December 15, 2019


SANTA ROSA, CA ( October 23, 2019 ) 6th Street Playhouse—Jared Sakren, Producing Artistic Director—to present  Oliver!  the classic musical based on Charles Dickens’ novel , Oliver Twist,  with book, music, and lyrics by Lionel Bart, directed by Patrick Nims, music directed by Ginger Beavers, and choreographed by Joseph Favalora.   

The musical runs in the GK Hardt Theatre from November 15 to December 15, 2019 with a preview performance on Thursday, November 14.  

The Playhouse is delighted to bring  Oliver! to the stage for the holiday season. Written for adults, but equally appealing to young people, the story comes alive on the streets of Victorian England when young, orphaned Oliver Twist navigates London’s underworld of theft and violence, searching for a home, a family, and—most importantly—love.  

The Tony award-winning musical is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and audiences alike. Full of familiar and hummable songs including  ‘ Consider Yourself ,’  ‘I’d do Anything,’ ‘Food, Glorious Food’  and the spine-tingling ‘As Long as He Needs Me’ the show is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

In 2018, the Playhouse’s production of Equus received a five-star rating from the North Bay Bohemian and was named a “Go See!” production by the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle. In its 2017-18 Season, Equus , Noises Off and Illyria were named Theatre Bay Area recommended productions.
