SANTA ROSA, CA (July 30, 2019) 6th Street Playhouse to present The Book Club Play , by Karen Zacarias and directed by Jess Headington.

The production opens the Playhouse's 2019-20 Season and will run August 23rd through September 15th, 2019, on the Monroe Stage (formerly the Studio Theatre).

The Book Club Play is an endearing comedy about five very different book-loving friends and how the staid dynamics of their meetings quickly change when they become the subject of a documentary film, making everyone self-conscious. Add a professor of comparative literature to the group and. . .Egos clash! Jealousies surface! Chaos ensues!

The cast of The Book Club Play features:
Maureen O'Neill as Ana; Marc Assad as Rob/Sam; John Browning as Will/Frank; Heather Gibeson as Jen/Elsa; Brittany SIms as Lily/Edith; and Eyan Dean as Alex/Carl.

On opening night, August 23rd, there will be a reception following the performance where patrons can meet the cast and enjoy complimentary champagne provided by Korbel.

Post show discussions will be held following the performances on Sunday, August 25, Friday, August 30, and Saturday, September 14, evening, where audience members can discuss the show and their favorite books with the director and cast members.
The Book Club Play opens on the Monroe Stage August 23rd, 2019, and runs through September 15th, 2019. It runs approximately 2 hours, with one intermission, and all seats are reserved. Tickets are $18-$29 and are available at  or by calling the Box Office at (707) 523-4185 ext. 1.

*New this Season! Announcing the 'Monroe Stage'!
The Playhouse received a very, very generous gift from a local philanthropist to upgrade the Studio Theatre, add parking and make numerous facility improvements over a number of years. We are humbled and exceedingly grateful! To honor the family making the gift the Studio Theatre will now be known as the ‘Monroe Stage'.
