Los Angeles, October 19, 2018 – The Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS) announced today the launch of its new mobile app to instantly reach its membership with vital information through push notifications and member information provided on the ALADS website. Non-members are able to receive important push notifications and general information.
In its endeavor to protect its members information and privacy as well as simplify the sign-in
procedure across its multiple applications, ALADS has developed and implemented its own
Identity Service.
The Identity Service is implementing the latest technologies in authentication and
authorization for web and mobile application development.
The Identity Service is using oauth2 and OpenId Connect to allow its members to connect
to ALADS mobile and web applications using a single username and password.
OpenId Connect allows for clients of all types, including browser-based Javascript and
native mobile applications, to launch a sign-in flow and receive verifiable assertions about
the identity of the signed-in user without compromising and sharing private information.
Keeping its members personal information confidential is the utmost concern to the ALADS Board of Directors. This app will provide extraordinary security for its users.
The ALADS mobile app makes it easy for its membership to interact with the ALADS staff and quickly get the information they need. Members can access:
- Member documents including the MOU and Salary Schedule
- Calendar events
- Member Discounts
- ERCOM/UFC's information
- ALADS monthly magazine, ALADS Dispatcher
- PORF information
- Directory to contact the Board and ALADS representatives
- and many more!
The ALADS mobile app is available on both iOS and Android devices.
