About Alana's Foundation.
As extraordinary as the outcome, Alana's story is relatively unremarkable in detail. On the afternoon of February 1, 2003, 5 1/2 year old Alana Yaksich spent the day with her parents and brothers watching movies, eating sundaes and playing. Although she had a low-grade fever from a recent sore throat (for which she had finished a course of antibiotics), Alana enjoyed the afternoon feeling healthy and surrounded by her friends and family. Later that evening, Alana developed a 105-degree fever and was rushed to the emergency room. Within hours of her arrival at the local hospital, Alana died of flu-related complications that caused swelling and injury to her brain. Alana had not been vaccinated against the flu. Her age was not in the recommended CDC guidelines at the time and her doctor never recommended it.
In 2009 Alana's family established the Alana's Flu Foundation a non-profit dedicated to educating people about the severity of influenza and the importance of vaccinating children against the flu every year.
In 2010, the foundation expanded the scope of its mission to offer support to families that experienced the tragic loss of a child (regardless of the cause). Thus, Alana's Foundation was born.

About Ty Stone. If one of the marks of a great performer is the ability to combine the ordinary and the extraordinary, then Ty Stone-a powerhouse singer in an unprettified package-is as true an entertainer as they come. "With me, it's a matter of combining the everyday with having this chainsaw for a voice," he laughs. "I'm not this pre-packaged, square-jawed, good-looking, 6-foot-4 kid. People relate to me most as the dude they hung out with in school, and I feel like my size gives me more of an everyman quality." But, of course, not every man can wail like... that. "My voice is really about constant intensity," he notes, "whether the pedal is down, and I'm hitting monster notes, or I'm in low gear, and I'm being sweet and thoughtful with every breath." Official Website. TyStone.com About Daniel Harrison & the $2 Highway. Daniel Harrison and the $2 Highway is a not-so-traditional five piece band from Detroit, Michigan. Their groove laden mixture of alternative country and roots is layered with complex conga beats, entrancing guitar solos and grooving bass lines, all driven by the deep thumping of the djembe. Rounding out this unconventional group are the soulful and sometimes haunting lyrics generated by Daniel Harrison's powerful, yet sexy-raw voice.
