Anderson Stewart Family Establishes $1 Million Fund with CFVI

U.S. Virgin Islands, April 8, 2025  The Anderson Stewart Family Foundation has announced a $1 million donation to the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI), solidifying their long-term commitment to the territory's future.

This significant contribution marks a new chapter in the Anderson family's decades-long relationship with the U. S. Virgin Islands. Despite their recent divestment from local business interests, the family remains dedicated to leaving a lasting positive impact.

The establishment of a donor-advised fund at CFVI is designed to provide sustainable support for nonprofit initiatives across the Virgin Islands for generations to come. The Andersen Stewart family is committed to the philanthropic value of a fund's longevity.

Unlike one-time grants, this fund will grow over time, with annual distributions made based on investment returns. This approach ensures a perpetual source of funding for local charitable causes. CFVI’s expertise in local needs and the nonprofit landscape will assist in guiding the distribution of funds generated by the investment income.

“On behalf of the Anderson family, we are truly honored to continue our 40-year investment in the Virgin Islands,” said Richard Berry, spokesperson for the Anderson family. “During this time, we have been able to support dozens of nonprofit initiatives throughout the territory, and we are excited to continue these efforts. We are looking forward to helping today and in future generations."

CFVI President Dee Baecher-Brown expressed gratitude for the family’s generosity.

“The Anderson family has a long history of supporting charitable initiatives in the Virgin Islands,” Baecher-Brown said. “The establishment of this fund reflects their desire to maintain a strong connection with the islands and ensure their name continues to be associated with positive change in the community. We are honored by their trust in CFVI and look forward to collaborating to assure a lasting impact across our islands."

This generous gift not only builds on the Anderson Family's legacy in the Virgin Islands but it will provide a sustainable funding source to address pressing community needs for years to come.
