Last year the event drew
over 10,000 people
and we expect that number to grow this year. We have multiple sponsorships for this event, including Telemundo Utah, Broadway Media, Walmart, Salt Lake City, Dominion Energy, and the Downtown Alliance.
In addition to a fun and festive parade through the heart of The Gateway, the event will feature local artisans, dance performances, live music, and other family friendly entertainment. Participants will enjoy fresh-made food from multiple Hispanic countries including Peru, Cuba, El Salvador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. There will also be beer available, including Mexican lagers and micheladas.
The event is not only a chance to enjoy great food, drinks, entertainment and fun.
“This event is unique because it is the only event in Utah that celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a parade.” says Maria Guadarrama, Health Access Assister and Parade Director. "We are thrilled to provide this venue for people to represent their culture or country of origin.”
Take Care Utah’s team of Health Access Assisters will be there to offer free help with questions about health insurance as well as free enrollment assistance.
“Our goal is to attract the Hispanic community to a fun and festive event. Once there, Take Care Utah’s Health Access Assisters will help the attendees understand and enroll in health insurance,” Maria Guadarrama.
