The Capitol Announces April 2024 Entertainment On The Big Screen:

Maestro, Blood Car, Slashers, Titanic, Travelogue, Peter Rabbit 2, and UFC 300

BURLINGTON, IOWA - The Capitol is proud to announce April's big screen entertainment schedule, with films including Maestro, a Terror Vision Double-Feature of Blood Car and Slashers, Titanic, and Peter Rabbit 2, along with the final Travelogue installment of the season and The Capitol's first fight night, with UFC 300.


Kicking the month off on Thursday, April 4th is a full evening of entertainment presented by the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra (SEISO). Starting the evening at the Night Cap Listening Lounge at 5pm for a Happy Hour & Bernstein Listening, followed by a FREE screening of Bradley Cooper's Maestro (R) at 7pm in The Capitol theater, then concluding with a post-screening social event at Night Cap at 9pm.


Starting at 7pm on Saturday, April 6th is the ultimate horror double-feature, Blood Car (Not Rated) and Slashers (R) presented by Terror Vision and I Like It Spooky, A Horror Podcast.


With the season's final Travelogue installment on April 11th is Rick Steves' Slovenia, Croatia, Dubrovnik and Balkan Side-Trips, airing FREE to the public at 1:30pm and 7:30pm.


Join us April 12th for the first ever collaboration between Corked 101, The Capitol & Night Cap! Starting with a dinner & wine pairing at Corked at 5pm then Titanic (PG-13) at The Capitol at 7:30pm. $88 per person-includes the Titanic movie ticket and dinner & wine pairing. All are encouraged to dress the part of the Titanic theme with cocktails throughout the movie available at Night Cap.


At 1pm on Saturday, April 13th, southeast Iowa is invited to a FREE showing of Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (PG), presented by the PiECES Afterschool Program.


Get ready for downtown fight night starting at 9pm on April 13th for UFC 300: Pereira vs Hill ($20 per ticket). Featuring three title fights and a card stacked from top to bottom with mixed martial arts' biggest stars.

About The Capitol

Located in the heart of downtown Burlington, the restored Capitol Theater recaptures an era when movies and live entertainment were enjoyed in beautiful and unique theaters.


This 1937 Art Deco jewel re-opened in 2012. The intimate 367–seat venue and listening lounge, Night Cap, host independent and classic films as well as local, regional, and national touring artists performing on a 1,500–square foot stage.


The Capitol is home to monthly films and concerts as well as host of the annual Snake Alley Festival of Film held each July, and Old Couch Music Fest, a free outdoor musical festival held each August.
