(April 6, 2015, Centerville, MA)- The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod has announced that Attorney Bruce Bierhans a resident of Wellfleet will be the new Chairman of the Board of Directors for the organization.

Bierhans' law practice specializes in trial law with offices in Hyannis, Chatham and Eastham.  He also currently serves on the board of Wellfleet Preservation Hall and public radio station WOMR in addition to his founding role in the Cape Wellness Collaborative.  He is also a past President of the Board at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater as well as the Payomet Center for the Performing Arts. 

Bierhans is excited about his new role at the AFCC saying "I'm very pleased to have been elected as the new Chairman of the Arts Foundation.  The Foundation has a marvelous board and a long history of success in supporting arts and culture on the Cape, and, of course, in putting on great events, such as Pops By The Sea and Pops in The Park.  Arts and business on Cape Cod are natural economic engines, each for the other. I look forward to working with Executive Director David Kaplan and the AFCC board towards creating more productive collaborations and providing even greater advocacy and support for our diverse art, artists and cultural organizations on the Cape."

He also added, "On behalf of the entire board, I'd like to thank outgoing Chair Mark Skala and Board Secretary Terri Ahern for their past hard work and dedicated leadership.

Also elected for another term on the Executive Committee of the Arts Foundation were Rana Murphy (Vice Chairperson), Peter Rice (Treasurer) Erin Madden (Secretary) and Bart Weisman (Member-at-Large).
