The Asian Chamber Celebrates Growth and Entrepreneurship with Annual Awards Dinner

HOUSTON (May 28, 2013) -- The Asian Chamber of Commerce and its partners will recognize community, cultural, and business leaders during its 23rd Annual Awards Dinner themed "The Spirit of Entrepreneurship." The event will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013, Kim Son Ballroom, 10603 Bellaire Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77072, with registration and executive silent auction at 6:30 p.m. followed by the dinner and program at 7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.

 

Many Houstonians have come together to organize this event, with the goals of celebrating the region's growth and encouraging others to join their efforts. Asian Chamber President Linda Toyota is pleased with the camaraderie. "It is a pleasure to take part in such a diverse celebration of Houston's continuous success," says Toyota. "The commitment shown by entrepreneurs, executives, scholars and other participants has made the city's growth possible."

 

The dinner's dignitaries include City of Houston Mayor Annise D. Parker who will deliver opening remarks and keynote speaker and Ambassador of the Year Y. Ping Sun. In addition to her work of Counsel with the law firm of Yetter Coleman LLP and a University Representative at Rice, Sun serves on several boards including the United Way of Greater Houston, the Asia Society Texas Center, Texas Children's Hospital and St. John's School.

 

 

Other honorees will include Utegration President & CEO Bin Yu as Entrepreneur of the Year; CenterPoint Energy as Corporate Ambassador of the Year represented by Human Resources Vice President Dean Woods; award-winning Chef and Oxheart restaurant founder Justin Yu as Young Entrepreneur of the Year; and Covelo Group CEO and Co-Founder David J. Lee as Professional of the Year.

 

Lily Chen Foster, community volunteer, will co-chair, along with Donovan Casanave, Shell, and Thanh Roettele, JPMorgan Chase. Anthony Chase of ChaseSource is this year's honorary chair. Shell, HCC, H-E-B and JPMorgan Chase are among the event's many sponsors. Annoura Realty Group owner/broker Susan Annoura will emcee the event.  

 

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an Executive Silent Auction. High bidders will have rare, focused time with leaders who can help expand the winners' business and leadership skills.
