GEORGETOWN, KY - May 21, 2026 – The Georgetown/Scott County Tourism Commission is happy to announce the release date of Bourbon Genesis II: "The Founder's Sip" — An exclusive Elijah Craig barrel pick in partnership with Heaven Hill Distillery honoring Georgetown, Kentucky's bourbon heritage.

“Bourbon Genesis II: The Founder’s Sip is more than a bottle release — it is a celebration of Georgetown/Scott County’s bourbon legacy, Reverend Elijah Craig’s story, and our community’s rightful place in bourbon history as the true Birthplace of Bourbon,” said Lori Saunders, Executive Director of the Georgetown/Scott County Tourism Commission. “We are proud to continue sharing this story in a way that brings visitors and residents together to experience, taste, and celebrate our history.”

This is a formal invitation to join us at Maime's Fine Wine and Gifts in Historic Downtown Georgetown, KY (June 5th, 2026 @6pm) for our limited bottle release event.

Experience the Founders’ Sip and purchase an exclusive Bourbon Genesis bottle—an Elijah Craig Private Barrel Pick from Heaven Hill, created exclusively for Georgetown, KY in celebration of the true #BirthplaceOfBourbon.

This special release pays homage to the legacy of Reverend Elijah Craig, who "saw the light" and forever changed the course of bourbon history by aging whiskey in charred oak barrels on the banks of Royal Spring (1789).

A limited number of bottles will be available. Numbered passes will be distributed in order of arrival. Participants will need to present a valid ID. Limit one bottle per person (21 years of age or older). Pricing and other bottle information is to be announced.

As part of this exclusive event, you will be personally guided through the Founder's Sip—a chance to taste before you buy at Maime's Fine Wine & Gifts.

Enjoy a handcrafted charcuterie board from Local Feed and sweet treats from Desserts by Rebecca, while supplies last.
