Officers and directors serve two-year terms and are elected at the College’s annual meeting. Incoming Chair Melissa S. Kibler, Accordion, Chicago, is only the second woman Chair of the College and is the first financial advisor to serve in that role. Kibler stated, “To be given the opportunity to lead this incredible organization, among so many talented, capable leaders, is a privilege and a responsibility, one that I take very seriously.” She further noted that, “We are fortunate to have this exceptional group of professionals who are willing to dedicate their time and talents to the endeavors of the College. I compliment the nominating committee and Board for their hard work and sagacity in selecting our new slate of leaders. Importantly, mindfulness regarding the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion is evident and becoming more ingrained in our decisions as an institution.” 

Charles A. Beckham, Jr., Haynes and Boone LLP, Houston previously served as Chair of the Board of Regents. He shared, “The College is dedicated to goals of scholarship, professionalism and collegiality. I am honored and excited to be part of the leadership team serving with our Chair, Melissa Kibler, as we promote and achieve those goals.”

Hayden, Baker Donelson Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, New Orleans as the first woman Chair of the Foundation and Patricia A. About the College

The American College of Bankruptcy was founded in 1989 and is an honorary public service association of United States and international insolvency professionals who are invited to join as Fellows based on a proven record of the highest standards of expertise, leadership, integrity, professionalism, scholarship, and service to the bankruptcy and insolvency practice and to their communities. The College facilitates the effective domestic and cross-border application of bankruptcy and insolvency laws and the administration of justice in the courts through, among other activities, conducting professional educational programs, sponsoring the publication of scholarly reports, and maintaining the National Bankruptcy Archives. The College also funds projects that improve the quality of bankruptcy law and practice, as well as access to justice, in particular through grants by its affiliated Foundation to pro bono legal service programs. Underlying all of its work, the College is dedicated to enhancing professionalism, scholarship service in bankruptcy and insolvency law and practice, and to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion within the organization and across the insolvency profession.
