FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA. (Nov. 3, 2023) — The Fairfax County NAACP branch is proud to share the success of their recent 'Souls to the Polls' event, held Sunday, October 29, 2023 in the Route 1 area. This impactful event was a two-part endeavor, beginning with a gathering at the landmark sign commemorating the Harper v Virginia landmark case, a pivotal moment in history that removed poll tax requirements. From there, they moved to the Mt. Vernon Government Center, where they engaged with voters, shared important remarks, and celebrated their shared commitment to democracy.
As the Fairfax County and Virginia State elections approach, the Fairfax County NAACP urges the community to stay informed, engaged, and involved.
