Macomb County, MI - Anthony Forlini extends congratulations to Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist on his endorsement by the Michigan Democrat Party on Sunday for Secretary of State.
Forlini offered, “Congratulations to the Michigan Democrat delegates on choosing the candidate they feel is best qualified to run for Michigan Secretary of State representing their party. And congratulations to Lt. Governor Gilchrist on this nomination; I look forward to seeing him on the campaign trail.”
The current Macomb County Clerk, Anthony Forlini was endorsed by the Michigan Republican delegates on March 28, 2026 in Novi to run as their nominee for the Secretary of State.
Forlini continued, “Now the stage is set and we can talk about what matters most to the Michigan citizens: experience, established results, and incredible customer service. I am proud of all that we have accomplished in the Macomb County Clerk’s office and my strong work ethic. It serves as a snapshot of what I will bring to the rest of the state.”
Anthony said the campaign will remain focused on improving customer service, strengthening confidence in Michigan’s election and public service systems, increasing transparency, and offering steady, experienced leadership.
He added, “While I respect him as a person, I am concerned with what I had read in the Detroit News recently, that Mr. Gilchrist showed up for work in his current role only 6% of the time. That is not what the hardworking people of Michigan expect.”
This serves in strong contrast to the 100% attendance Mr. Forlini had in the six years he was in the Legislature - where he never missed a vote.
The Forlini team will continue to campaign in every corner of Michigan in the months ahead, leading to the November election.
