The Calhoun County Public Health Department (CCPHD) has received a surplus of KN95 face masks to be distributed throughout Calhoun County. The CCPHD has partnered with community service organizations and churches to ensure accessing these masks is easy, convenient, and free throughout the county. High-filtration masks, such as KN95s, provide greater protection against the omicron COVID-19 variant. The CDC updated its mask guidance last week and recommended that residents wear properly-fitted N95 and KN95 masks, as those coverings have been shown to be more effective at protecting individuals from the omicron variant.
These masks will be available beginning Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.
