CRESSON, TX – Henson Lumber, a member of the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA), hosted Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) for a business tour and employee town hall at its lumberyard located in Cresson, Texas on Friday, August 22nd. In addition to being an NLBMDA member, Henson Lumber is a member of the Lumbermen’s Association of Texas, one of NLBMDA’s nine Federated Association Partners. Henson Lumber has served Texas’s Hood, Parker, Johnson, Tarrant, and Erath counties since 1972 and has earned the reputation for carrying the most reliable and trusted names in the building material industry.
"It was great having Congressman Williams visit our lumberyard and take the time to see what we do firsthand. We had a good conversation about the current state of the lumber industry, including challenges like tariffs, labor shortages, and regulations. We’re glad we could share how these issues impact our day-to-day operations and the broader building materials industry,” said Casey Wallace, COO of Henson Lumber. “Congressman Williams shared his passion for Texas businesses, especially small, family owned and operated facilities like ours. We are fortunate to have him as a voice and champion.”
Congressman Williams has served in Congress since 2013 and currently chairs the House Small Business Committee, a standing committee which oversees America’s small business activity. “Henson Lumber embodies deep local roots and strong community values,” said Congressman Williams. “As a small business owner myself, I understand how policies coming out of Washington, D.C. can directly impact daily operations. I will always stand with the entrepreneurs and hardworking families of Main Street to support Texas jobs and American manufacturing. I am fighting each day to advance pro-growth, pro-worker, and pro-small business policies. We must keep America building by ensuring our nation’s job creators have the tools and freedom they need to succeed.”
In an annual tradition, each summer NLBMDA and its members invite members of Congress for a business tour and discussion of the issues impacting the LBM industry. “NLBMDA extends its appreciation to Congressman Williams for meeting with Henson Lumber and for his continued leadership in supporting the growth and success of the LBM industry,” said NLBMDA President and CEO Jonathan Paine.
