The Legends of Rock & Roll Concert

BURLINGTON, IOWA - The Capitol is proud to announce Jimmy Ryan, live in concert at 7:30pm on Friday, October 20th. The would renowned musician, author and composer brings his show The Heroes Behind The Hits, Music & Tales From The Legends of Rock & Roll to Southeast Iowa in a unique and entertaining variety show – featuring an

informative musical talk show and book reading with impressive musical performances.


Throughout the evening Jimmy will perform renditions of songs by The Loving Spoonful, Peter Gabriel, Simon and Garfunkel, The Eurythmics, The Police, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. He demonstrates how a song comes into the studio in its raw form, almost unrecognizable from the final record, and with fascinating stories from the recording sessions, musically shows how the studio musicians each add parts that become iconic and essential to the final hit record.


Jimmy Ryan has recorded and/or toured with the likes of Carly Simon, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Elton John & Kiki Dee, Judy Collins, James Taylor, Luther Vandross, The Doors, Irene Cara, Loudon Wainwright III, Michael Johnson, Jimmy Webb, Andy Williams, Mickey Thomas and many more.


Sharing tales from his book The Superstar Chronicles: Tales of Life Among Rock Royalty, Jimmy Ryan will close the show with questions from the audience and an opportunity to obtain an autographed copy.

The Capitol, located 211 North 3rd Street, is a historic downtown Burlington, Iowa venue, featuring a 367 seat auditorium and a concession stand with snacks including popcorn and candy as well as sodas, water and a range of wine and beer. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the concession stand.

This 1937 Art Deco jewel re-opened in 2012. The intimate 367-seat venue, along with its reception and gallery annex, hosts independent and classic films as well as local, regional, and national touring artists performing on a 1,500-square stage.
