BURLINGTON, IOWA - The Capitol is proud to announce March's film schedule, including Over the Hedge, 007: On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Leprechaun 4: In Space, A League of Their Own, and 1984.

On Saturday, March 9th at enjoy a FREE showing of the 2006 animated Dreamworks film Over the Hedge (PG) at 1pm, presented by the PiECES Afterschool Program, with kids activities on the stage starting at 12pm. Then at 7pm on the 9th James Bond returns to The Capitol with the classic 007 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service (PG).

Horror fans are invited to an early St. Patrick's Day film on Saturday, March 16th with a showing of Leprechaun 4: In Space (R) at 7pm.

Celebrate Women's History Month with a special showing of A League of Their Own (PG) on Friday, March 22nd at 7pm.

Closing out the month is a FREE showing of the dystopian sci-fi thriller 1984 on March 30th at 7pm, hosted by SCC Film Club.

Located in the heart of downtown Burlington, the restored Capitol Theater recaptures an era when movies and live entertainment were enjoyed in beautiful and unique theaters.

This 1937 Art Deco jewel re-opened in 2012. The intimate 367–seat venue and listening lounge, Night Cap, host independent and classic films as well as local, regional, and national touring artists performing on a 1,500–square foot stage.

The Capitol is home to monthly films and concerts as well as host of the annual Snake Alley Festival of Film held each July, and Old Couch Music Fest, a free outdoor musical festival held each August.
