Matt & The Herdsmen Announce Release Date of STILL SANE
"Miss My Chance" Brings Band First Top 40 Texas Hit

( Edinburg , Texas) -- Matt & The Herdsmen  is pleased to announce the September 1, 2017 release of their sophomore album, STILL SANE, with distribution to  iTunes, Amazon and all popular digital retailers through Smith Music Group; pre-sale begins on July 21, 2017. The lead radio single, "Miss My Chance," has reached the #36 position on the Texas Regional Radio Report, a personal best for the band, and is available as an instant gratification track upon order from the collection of 11 new songs. STILL SANE was produced by Dave Percefull at yellow DOG Studios in Wimberely, Texas. "Miss My Chance" is being promoted to radio by Dillon Steen of Steen Entertainment.

"We are counting down the days until we release STILL SANE, a roller-coaster ride of heartbreak, love, and redemption," said Castillo. "It's been three years of experiences that we wrapped into 11 songs, and now, 'Miss My Chance' has become our first Top 40 hit. We couldn't be more proud and excited to bring new music to fans and radio. We are truly thankful for all the support and hope everyone enjoys the ride!"

Listening to  Matt & The Herdsmen brings back the days of packed honky-tonks, beer-soaked tales of love and woe and sawdust on the dance floors. STILL SANE  shows the band's mastery of keeping the storytelling tradition alive with songs like "Right Hand Man" and "For You." The more mellow tone of "Wait For Me" (which is dedicated to those serving, or have served, in the Armed Forces), "Let You Go" and "She Won't Cry" highlight the band's deep south Texas roots and remind us all of the country sounds of yesterday. Ideal for two-stepping or waltzing with that someone special, each song delivers superb instrumentation and songwriting that shows Castillo's aptitude for putting the human condition into words.

"By paying attention to the little details that go on in every day conversation, I feel I can tell a more in depth story," Castillo said. "In the end, it's important to me that the audience hears, and sees, that we are just like everybody else. We are going through the same relationship problems, milestones, and love. We just mix it with music."

Led by Castillo, who formed The Herdsmen in 2013 with bandmates Everto "Beto" Cavazos (Guitar), Danny Salinas (Bass), and Ruben Cantu (Drums), they debuted in December 2014 with SMALL TOWN STORIES, produced by Charlie Vela (Dia Frampton of "The Voice"). Enlisting esteemed radio promoter Dillon Steen to introduce their catchy rhythmic music to radio, their first single, "Dance All Night" (#47), broke into the Top 50 on the Texas Regional Radio Report. The second single, "All Gone," peaked at #88, while "Too Drunk Anyway" hit #46 and landed on the Top 200 songs of 2016.

Providing audiences a tug-and-pull filled with country twang, soft ballads, and a punch in the face with the Texas/Red Dirt sound, their presence on stage is opened up with the addition of Omar Oyoque on pedal steel. Matt & The Herdsmen have shared the stage with such top tier talent as Toby Keith, Jack Ingram, Randy Rogers band, Casey Donahew band, Kyle Park, William Clark Green, Pat Green, and Mike and The Moonpies. From hallowed dance halls to jam-packed festivals, the band has played many of Texas' most popular venues including River Road Icehouse (New Braunfels), John T. Floore Country Store (Helotes), House Pasture Cattle Co. (Concan), Whisky Girl Saloon (Ft. Worth), Smokin' on the Rio and Watermelon Festival (Alamo).
