New Aviation Mechanic and Updated Pilot Checkride Apps

Newcastle, WAA new ASA app for Aviation Mechanics provides comprehensive preparation for the FAA Aviation Mechanic General, Airframe, and Powerplant Oral & Practical exams.

Similar to ASA Checkride Apps for pilots, the Aviation Mechanic O&P app prepares students to demonstrate their skill and knowledge of the required elements outlined in the FAA Airman Certification Standards (FAA-S-ACS-1). The oral and practical (O&P) exams, administered by a designated mechanic evaluator (DME), evaluate if the candidate possesses the knowledge, risk management, and skill level needed to be issued an FAA Aviation Mechanic Certificate.

In addition to this new app, three of ASA's checkride apps for pilots (Instrument, Multi-engine, and Helicopter) have been updated to comply with the Airman Certification Standards. The Flight Review app contains new author updates, and the TH-67 Flashcards app for helicopter pilots has been updated for iOS compatibility.

All of ASA’s Checkride apps feature an easy-to-use flashcard format to study the questions, supported with appropriate answers, most likely to be asked by examiners during the last step in the pilot certification process—the practical exam. Questions and answers are organized and in compliance with the most current FAA testing standards. Applicants can mark questions for further review, thereby creating their own study subject areas to restudy where they need it most.
