This fall, the Schneider presents bold paintings by Jason Stopa alongside works by Kamrooz Aram, Cheryl Donegan, Lauren Luloff, Henri Matisse, Julia Rommel, Bob Thompson, and John Zurier. These exhibitions connect the legacies of modern masters with today’s contemporary voices, creating dynamic conversations you won’t want to miss.

Meet the Artists

Jason Stopa

Jason Stopa (b. 1983) is a painter and writer living in Brooklyn, NY. Stopa received his BFA from Indiana University and his MFA from Pratt Institute. His work has been reviewed in Artforum, Artsy, Hyperallergic, and The Brooklyn Rail. Recent solo exhibitions include “Joy Labyrinth” at Morgan Lehman (NYC) and "Hanging Gardens" at Atelier W (Pantin, FR) in 2019. A solo exhibition at Diane Rosenstein (Los Angeles, CA) is slated for late 2023. Recent group exhibitions include "Light," at Miles McEnery (NYC) and "Wayne Thiebaud Influencer: A New Generation" at The Manetti Shrem Museum (Davis, CA). Stopa teaches at Pratt Institute, The School of Visual Arts, SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology, and works for an academic journal at Columbia University.

Lauren Luloff


Lauren Luloff, born 1980, in Dover, New Hampshire, received her MFA from The Milton Avery College of Art, Bard College and her BFA from Pennsylvania State University. Recent solo exhibitions have been gotten international attention, she has shown in venues in New York; Luxembourg and Geneva, Switzerland; Naples, Italy. Notable group exhibitions include Galerie Lelong, New York; CANADA Gallery, New York; The Queens Museum,Queens, NY; Marlborough Gallery, Madrid, Spain, and Brand New Gallery, Milan, Italy. Her work has been featured and reviewed in The New York Times, Vogue, T Magazine, Art in America, the Huffington Post and the Village Voice among others. She has been awarded residencies by The Bau Institute, in Cassis, France, The Macedonia Institute, in Chatham, NY and DNA Residency in Provincetown, MA. Luloff lives and works in Brooklyn, NY and is represented by Barbara Davis Gallery in Houston.
